Notes from the life
we’re building.

01 / Hello

I’m Cameron.

I build businesses, fly falcons and am slowly restoring an old family place in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands.

This is where I keep the parts that don’t fit neatly on a business website: what I’m learning, what I’m building, where I’ve gone wrong, and the ordinary days I’d rather not forget.

Some things only make sense in the field.

Falconry has shaped how I see patience, attention and trust. Land does much the same. Neither cares how convincing your plan looked on paper.

Things worth
remembering.

Updates from the businesses, the farm, the field and everywhere in between.

Learning the shape of the land

The orchard, the swales, the frost and the slow work of understanding a place before trying to change it.

What a passage hawk teaches you

Patience, observation and the uncomfortable fact that progress rarely happens in a straight line.

Work · From the archive

Before Powerbox, there were experiments

An early idea called Taproot, a prototype made by hand, and the ventures that taught me how much I still had to learn.

Build a good business—and leave enough life to actually enjoy it.

The work matters. So do the birds, old trees, friendships, physical projects, ridiculous experiments and time outside. The ambition is not to choose one life at the expense of the other.

It starts with one person. It doesn’t have to end there.

For now, this is my record. Over time, The Coleys can become somewhere for family stories, photographs, places and memories that deserve more than a forgotten folder.
